Job summary

Microlise is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to Join the DevOps and Agile driven team in the Midlands. You will implement, maintain and upgrade the managed service and infrastructure, collaborating with Architects and Engineers across our 150 strong development group.

The role focuses on automating platform operations, improving reliability, and working with third-party vendors to optimise performance.

Qualifications

Experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering role.
Background in software-focused organisations or working closely with development teams.
Strong understanding of networking, IP addressing and enterprise IT environments.
Code-first approach and automation experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

Administering and maintaining critical information control systems supporting managed and hosted services.
Collaborating with Development and wider teams to ensure systems are accurate, available and fit for purpose.
Implementing, configuring, maintaining and upgrading platform infrastructure and services.
Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving platform and service issues.
Conducting dry-run tests prior to implementation with rollback planning.
Coordinating with third‑party vendors to optimise system performance.
Facilitating knowledge sharing between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Maintaining platform documentation and operational records.
Driving automation and continuous improvement across the platform estate.
