Job summary

Valarian Technologies in London is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to drive the internal platform as a product. You will collaborate with backend, infrastructure, and product teams to design tooling, workflows, and platform primitives that accelerate development while preserving security and reliability.

You’ll own end-to-end platform capabilities, from environment provisioning and deployment automation to observability and secrets management, using Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Argo CD,

Qualifications

• Experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or backend tooling.
• Strong hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Proficient automation in Go, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• IaC and GitOps familiarity (Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize).
• Experience with CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of build, containerisation, deployment, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve internal platform capabilities used by engineers and customers.
• Design tooling, automation, workflows, and integrations.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to simplify deployment and operation.
• Develop platform primitives for lifecycle management and environments.
• Create reusable templates and self-service workflows.
• Integrate tools into coherent end-to-end workflows.
• Evaluate CNCF tools to improve the platform.
• Support multi-environment deployments (GCP, on-prem, etc.).
