Job summary

Enigma is seeking a Platform Engineer in Cambridge to design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure for AI workloads. You will ensure performance, security, and cost-efficiency across AWS, GCP, and Azure, while supporting on-call reliability and SLOs.

You will work with engineers to scale AI agents, implement observability, and drive infrastructure improvements in a fast-moving AI environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure on major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Hands-on IaC in production using Terraform and Helm.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Practical experience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure across major cloud providers.
• Establish and enforce security best practices and infrastructure hardening.
• Deploy and operate AI agents at scale with high availability and performance.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, directly influencing the performance, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of our AI workloads.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
• Establish and implement security best practices and infrastructure hardening across cloud deployments.
• Deploy and operate AI agents at scale, ensuring high availability and robust performance.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to enhance system visibility.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports evolving business and technical requirements.
• Take ownership of service reliability and defined SLOs, including participation in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) in production environments, using tools such as Terraform and Helm.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Practical experience deploying and managing Kubernetes environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

What sets you apart

• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
• Experience supporting large-scale AI/ML workloads, particularly GPU-based infrastructure.
• Knowledge of AI agents, LLM-based systems, or LLM inference infrastructure.
• Programming experience with Golang and Python.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in technical communities.
