I am seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Data and AI Enablement team at a private equity firm. This central team is responsible for delivering and operating the firm’s enterprise-wide data and AI tooling, including platforms.

You’ll work with data owners across business units to enable federated data governance and empower domain teams to build and manage their own data products through self-service infrastructure. You'll help define and implement scalable, secure, and reusable patterns that support our data-driven transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and maintain self-service infrastructure using Azure Fabric to support domain-owned data product development.
  2. Implement reusable templates, security controls, and optimization strategies across a federated data landscape.
  3. Operate and enhance central Data & AI tooling across the business.
  4. Collaborate with data owners to define and support their data product needs.
  5. Ensure compliance and governance through Azure Purview, Defender, and Azure Policy.
  6. Apply infrastructure as code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform) for consistent and automated deployments.
  7. Support a platform reliability engineering mindset in a distributed environment.
  8. Provide enablement and guidance through a centralized, on-demand support model.
Requirements:
  1. 5–8 years of cloud platform engineering experience, with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure.
  2. Strong knowledge of Azure Fabric architecture and scalable compute services (e.g., AKS, Container Apps).
  3. Proven experience with infrastructure as code and automation.
  4. Understanding of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and federated governance.
  5. Ability to build reusable tooling and templates for simplified platform adoption.
  6. Effective communicator with experience working across distributed teams.
  7. You must also have experience in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or Private Equity.

This is a permanent position based in Central London, offering a salary of up to £120,000 plus bonus.
