Job summary

A technology recruitment agency is hiring a Platform Engineer for a contract role focused on a high-impact infrastructure improvement program. You will work remotely from the UK and be responsible for aligning an AWS platform with internal policies, leading a CI/CD migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions, and conducting platform risk assessments. Essential skills include extensive AWS experience and strong CI/CD knowledge.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, ACM, ECS, CloudWatch).
• Solid CI/CD knowledge – hands-on migration between Azure DevOps & GitHub Actions.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform / CDK / CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct platform risk assessment including IAM and SSL expiry.
• Improve availability across AWS services like RDS and EC2.
• Migrate CI/CD pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions.

Platform Engineer (Contract)

Outside IR35 | £500/day | Remote UK | 6 months+

Bright Purple are partnering with a global client to hire aPlatform Engineerfor a high-impact infrastructure improvement programme.

You’ll help assess and align an AWS platform with internal policies, and lead a criticalCI/CD migration from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities:

Conduct platform risk assessment: IAM, SSL expiry, EC2 security groups, backups, monitoring
Improve availability acrossRDS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, API Gateway
Migrate CI/CD pipelines to GitHub Actions
Support applications into tools likeSentry, Dependency Track, Bug Bounty, DAST
Define cross-region DR plans using Terraform CDK
Collaborate with dev teams on Java-based apps and AWS operational support
Triage infrastructure alerts and contribute to platform reliability

Essential Skills:

3+ years of AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, ACM, ECS, CloudWatch)
Solid CI/CD knowledge –hands-on migration between Azure DevOps & GitHub Actions
Strong Infrastructure-as-Code:Terraform / CDK / CloudFormation
Familiarity with Java applications (e.g. adding Sentry SDKs)

Bonus:

Experience with Kong API Gateway
