A leading financial services firm is looking for a Principal AI AWS Platform Engineer to help build a new internal platform that will transform how its engineering teams develop and deploy applications.

This is a hands-on opportunity to shape the platform from the ground up, combining AWS engineering, developer tooling and AI-assisted software delivery.

You’ll build self-service APIs, reusable application templates and automated delivery workflows, giving engineers and AI coding agents a faster, secure route into production. Working closely with application, security and architecture teams, you’ll make decisions that influence how software is built across the organisation.

You’ll bring strong experience developing AWS-native applications using services such as Lambda, API Gateway and Step Functions, alongside Terraform and CI/CD. Experience building developer platforms, using AI coding agents and embedding automated security controls would be particularly valuable. Python/FastAPI.

This role offers significant technical ownership and the chance to build capabilities used across a major financial services business, with practical AI adoption at the heart of the programme.
