B2E Consulting is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to work on an Azure-driven self-service infrastructure platform for a leading financial services client. The role is predominantly remote with required visits to London or the South Coast as needed, and offers a flexible arrangement.

The project focuses on delivering the next iteration of the Modelling Platform with reusable infrastructure and improved developer experience.

• Deliver cross-stack backlog items across front-end, back-end and infrastructure components.
• Support the release of the second iteration of the Modelling Platform.
• Ensure platform components are consistent, reusable and straightforward for developers to consume.

Location: Full-time or part-time considered – predominantly remote, with attendance in London or South Coast as required

Length of Project: Initial 4-6 months

Contract Type: Inside IR35

Summary

Do you have experience of providing hands-on Azure platform engineering and infrastructure automation expertise, on a self-service cloud infrastructure platform development project?

This consulting opportunity is to support our client, a leading financial services organisation, in building the next generation of its self-service Azure infrastructure platform, making cloud infrastructure simpler and more intuitive for developers. The immediate focus includes supporting the release of the second iteration of the Modelling Platform, with reusable infrastructure and an improved developer experience.

The project needs a consultant who has:

• strong Azure platform engineering and Terraform expertise


• broad software engineering capability across C#, Python and TypeScript


• experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation


• a self-sufficient, developer-focused approach to cross-stack engineering

Key Services

The key services that you will be asked to provide are:

• build and enhance the self-service Azure infrastructure portal


• create golden paths and reference implementations for developers


• automate infrastructure provisioning and platform processes wherever possible


• support developers building C#, Python and TypeScript applications


• provide practical guidance on software engineering and platform best practices

Mandatory Requirements

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate:

• strong hands-on Microsoft Azure and Terraform experience


• expertise in Azure DevOps and CI/CD delivery


• software engineering proficiency across C#, Python and TypeScript


• scripting and infrastructure automation capability


• experience working across front-end, back-end and infrastructure technologies


• ability to own technical problems through to resolution


• strong customer and developer focus

Optional Requirements

It will also be advantageous if you have:

• knowledge of Azure governance, security and networking


• experience building reusable infrastructure and platform components
