Are you ready to shape the future of next-generation products? Imperial Brands, a dynamic and inclusive global FMCG business powered by 25,000 talented individuals, is seeking aPlatform Development Managerto join our EVP/HT Category Innovation Team.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a team of Subject Matter Experts and drive the development of cutting-edge devices across our New Product Development pipeline. Reporting to the Head of HT/EVP Category R&D, you’ll play a central role in delivering breakthrough innovations that define the future of our category.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Led a multidisciplinary team of Device Development Engineersto deliver prototypes and technical solutions for innovation projects, acting as the technical authority across mechanical and electronic engineering disciplines.
  • Directed the technical delivery of critical projectswithin the EVP and HT spaces, ensuring alignment with design briefs, functional performance, and regulatory standards.
  • Managed end-to-end product development, from concept generation and iterative prototyping to testing and validation, while fostering collaboration with internal teams and strategic external partners.
  • Provided strategic insight into emerging technologies and industry trends, informing future product pipelines and driving continuous improvement in design processes and cost efficiency.
  • Built and maintained strong supplier relationships, enabling access to cutting-edge technologies and supporting the transition from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Line managed a high-performing engineering team, overseeing resource planning, professional development, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Practical (hands on) experience in electro-mechanical workshop environment – assembly, test equipment, etc
  • Creation of technical documentation and test reports, etc
  • Line management of technical SME’s
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) product development and delivery
