Job summary

Experian in Nottingham is seeking a Platform Capability Owner for the Consumer Consent Platform. This on‑site role reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and drives platform capability and product ownership during modernisation.

You will define backlogs, lead agile ceremonies, and ensure security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across the platform. Hybrid work with 2 days in Nottingham, offering a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience as Product Owner or Technical Product Owner.
• Open Banking API experience is essential.
• Experience with AWS, APIs, microservices, and CI/CD.
• Familiar with SDLC and Agile/Scrum.
• Knowledge of data governance and GDPR.

Role Overview

The key role for our modernisation project Spring reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and oversees the platform’s capability and product ownership.

Responsibilities

• Promote the evolution of Experian’s platforms and APIs, ensuring they are secure and compliant.
• Define the product backlog in collaboration with stakeholders and engineering leads.
• Translate requirements into clear user stories with well‑defined acceptance criteria.
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand‑ups in partnership with Scrum Masters and Engineering Leads.
• Promote communication between business, product, and engineering teams to ensure agreement on goals and deliverables.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to ensure features meet quality standards and are delivered reliably.
• Use analytics and performance metrics to inform prioritisation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all deliverables meet Experian’s standards for data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Own and evolve the platform’s non‑functional roadmap, prioritising NFRs such as availability, latency, throughput, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
• Improve adoption of observability and monitoring standards across platform components.
• Partner with architecture and engineering to address technical debt and risk mitigation.
• Champion performance benchmarking, load testing, and resilience engineering practices.

Experience & Skills

• Experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Owner.
• Open Banking API experience is essential.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Identify and champion GenAI adoption across the product lifecycle.
• Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and secure software development practices.

Working Conditions

Internal Grade: EB7/C. Hybrid working – 2 days a week in our Nottingham office. Great compensation package and discretionary bonus.
