Job summary

hiberus in London seeks a seasoned Platform Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture of client digital platforms, including websites, APIs and integrations. You will ensure security, resilience and high performance while driving modernization and reducing technical debt.

Part of the role involves API governance, disaster recovery, and ensuring services meet customer standards. Travel to Heathrow facilities 2 days/week and present architectural decisions to governance boards.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced London-based Platform Architect to provide end-to-end technical leadership for our customers' digital platforms, including websites, APIs, integrations, and supporting platform capabilities.

You will be responsible for ensuring the platform remains secure, resilient, high-performing, and aligned with customer standards, while supporting modernization initiatives and the continuous reduction of technical debt. Working closely with multiple teams and stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving platform sustainability, API governance, disaster recovery, security compliance, and service availability, helping to ensure the long-term success and evolution of critical digital services.

Some of your responsibilities

• Ensure architectural decisions support business objectives, customer experience improvements and product roadmap priorities.
• Define and continuously improve observability, monitoring and operational telemetry capabilities.
• Own the end-to-end architecture of IAGCargo.com and associated services.
• Define architecture standards, technical roadmaps and modernisation plans.
• Ensure solutions meet availability, resilience, security and performance requirements.
• Lead architecture governance and support CAB and design review processes.
• Govern API and integration design, versioning and lifecycle management.
• Drive technical-debt remediation and platform evolution initiatives.
• Support disaster recovery, resilience testing and operational readiness activities.
• Provide technical leadership across BAU and Flexible Capacity teams.
• 7+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years as a Platform Architect.
• Proven ownership of customer-facing, highly available digital platforms.
• Experience with Java and other web technologies
• Strong API and integration architecture experience.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS and/or Azure).
• Expertise in resilience, observability, security-by-design and DevOps practices.
• Experience presenting and defending architectural decisions before client governance boards.
• Fluent English (C1 or above).
• It is required to visit customer facilities in Heathrow airport 2 days/week.
