Founded in 2017 by experienced business owners, we set out to challenge traditional banking by offering more flexibility, understanding, and practical support to help businesses thrive. Since receiving our banking licence in 2021, we’ve built a loyal customer base and a strong, diverse team that puts people first.

Our vision is building stronger futures with bespoke financial solutions. We understand that no two financial needs are the same, which is why we work closely with UK SMEs and individuals to unlock potential others often overlook. Through smart, flexible lending and savings products, we’re here to build and grow stronger futures for lasting success.

Our values shape how we work and grow together:

Can do, will do: We take ownership, solve problems, and adapt as our customers’ needs evolve.

Be brilliant: We show up with curiosity and energy, always striving for better.

Do the right thing: We act with integrity, responsibility, and care in everything we do.

Make a difference: We focus on impact, helping our customers, colleagues, and communities succeed.

About the role

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimising Recognise Bank’s core technology platforms, including nCino (Salesforce), Mambu, and the integration layer. You will act as a technical point of contact for platform-related issues, investigating and resolving incidents, monitoring system performance, and taking proactive steps to ensure the availability and stability of business-critical services. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will support new feature deployments, maintain API-driven workflows, and provide APEX-based support for Salesforce customisations. Additionally, you will contribute to documentation and process improvements to help scale and evolve our platforms. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise in SaaS application support, Salesforce development, and systems integration, with a focus on delivering seamless, reliable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide BAU support for the bank’s core platforms, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and rapid response to incidents across nCino, Mambu, and integration layers.
  • Deliver enhancements and changes to the Salesforce-based lending platform, including user setup, configuration changes, and platform optimisation.
  • Support the delivery and testing of new features and integrations using Corezoid and RESTful APIs, working with internal and third-party teams.
  • Maintain high standards of platform documentation including system changes, support guides, and technical specifications.
  • Monitor data flows and address data quality issues through validation, investigation, and resolution.
  • Participate in Change Management processes, ensuring updates and deployments are controlled and compliant.
  • Support integration testing, operational acceptance, and user training as part of wider release processes.
  • Work with the wider team to drive innovation, stability, and continuous improvement across the stack.
  • Provide input into the longer-term roadmap for platform tooling and support strategies.
  • Work with key platform vendors to escalate and resolve issues, track updates, and ensure ongoing alignment with business requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in IT support, platform operations, or application engineering roles in banking or fintech.
  • At least 6 months of Salesforce development experience required with Apex classes/ triggers and Lightning Components.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce-based systems (e.g. nCino), including basic APEX understanding and administrative configuration.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, system integration, and SaaS platforms (ideally including Mambu).
  • Experience working in a change-controlled, regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation, QA/test processes, and tools such as Jira/Confluence.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication capabilities.
  • Team player with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
