Job summary

Metal Fabrication Systems Ltd is expanding its workshop and seeking skilled Platers to join the team in our UK facility. You will read fabrication drawings, mark out, cut and shape heavy steel components and assemble fabrications for welders, ensuring tight tolerances and quality standards.

In addition to tackling tack welding and collaborating with welders, engineers and other trades, you will help maintain a clean, safe working environment and benefit from overtime opportunities and a

• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Mark out, cut and shape heavy steel components using appropriate tools.
• Assemble fabrications to tolerances and pass to welders.
• Tack welding and liaising with welders and engineers.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and maintains safety.

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Platers to join our growing workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications
• Mark out, cut, and shape heavy steel components using appropriate tools and equipment
• Assemble structural fabrications to tight tolerances to pass to welders for final assembly
• Tack Welding
• Liaise with welders, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow
• Conduct self-inspections and ensure all work meets required quality standards
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies and health & safety regulations
