Job summary

Framatome UK is hiring a Plater for Bridgwater to join our Hinkley Point C team. You will follow documented procedures to cut, fit and weld plate metal, reading CAD drawings and maintaining tooling in a production setting.

You will work under supervision with a focus on safety, quality records, and compliant methods, attending safety briefings and toolbox talks as part of daily site activity.

Qualifications

  • Time served / apprenticeship trained is required.
  • Experience with fabrication of stainless-steel equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed CAD drawings.
  • Experience in a production/engineering environment.
  • Experience supervising site activities and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and calmness under pressure.
  • Ability to challenge unacceptable behaviours when necessary.
  • Training: Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent level in related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to weld procedures and quality records.
  • Cutting, shaping and joining plate metal.
  • Maintaining equipment and tools for assembly/welding/calibration.
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Be familiar with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permits to Work.
  • Attend HSE training and meetings as required.
  • Lead Toolbox Talks and participate in safety briefings.
  • Ensure tools and materials meet HSE requirements.
  • Ensure work is supported by appropriate method statements and permits and report incidents.

What are we hiring for?

We are seeking a Plater to join our team in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater to ensure product is delivered in line with the documented procedures and standards.

What will you be doing?

Within this position you will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to weld procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation
  • Cutting, shaping and joining plate metal
  • Maintaining equipment and small tools for assembly / welding / calibration
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings
  • Be suitably familiar with the contents of this Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work
  • Attending any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested.
  • Attending, participate in and periodically lead Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensuring that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements.
  • Ensuring that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.
  • Ensuring that all incidents and near misses are reported
Profile
What are we looking for?
  • Be time served / apprentice trained
  • Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment

  • Used to working in a production and engineering environment
