A leading global organisation in Hertfordshire is seeking a Platen Operator to set up and run platen machines for producing finished materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with hand fed platens and solid manufacturing background. Key responsibilities include following health and safety regulations, maintaining quality control, and reporting faults. Competitive salary with extra pay for Sundays will be offered.

Overview

Platen Operator — Location: Bishops Stortford. Salary: Depending on Platen Industry Experience - £30k plus 30% extra pay for Sundays. Hours: 06:45 - 18:45 (on a rotating basis): Week 1: Monday Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2: Wednesday Thursday Friday. Company: Global leading organisation serving indoor, outdoor and online markets.

Role

Responsible for setting up and running platens to produce finished materials. Handling of large cutting forms and various types of materials. Adhering to health and safety regulations. Setting and operating platen machines. Complete paperwork accurately. Complete daily machine checks sheets and any faults are to be advised to your supervisor. Always follow the Quality Control process and perform random quality checks to ensure consistency. Take responsibility to report any issues or unsafe working practices and follow the correct procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate platen machines to produce finished materials.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Complete paperwork accurately and maintain daily machine check sheets; report faults to supervisor.

Requirements

• Experience operating hand fed platens up to 3 x 1.8.
• Worked with all materials, particularly in POS.
• Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative.
• Proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
