Job description

A&P Tyne – Plate Burner

We are seeking a experienced fabricator with a keen eye for detail to join our production team, specializing in cutting large metal plates with precision.

The role involves working on various projects, from repairs to construction, across the commercial and military sectors. Candidates may have experience as a flame cutter, plasma cutter, or burner.

We have a steady pipeline of work, offering long-term employment for those who prioritize quality and accuracy. This is a permanent position based on the Tyne.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings to determine appropriate cutting procedures
  • Measuring and marking metal plates accurately
  • Operating and maintaining plate burning machines to cut large metal plates precisely
  • Using CNC Plasma, oxy-fuel, grinding machines, quickie machines for cutting and edge preparation, and Arc Air for gouging
  • Undertaking dry survey requirements

Candidate requirements:

  • Trade apprenticeship completion with experience in CNC profile cutting machines
  • Experience in Arc Air gouging and grinding
  • Stamina and adaptability to work in varying weather conditions, with high attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good steady hands and sharp vision for accuracy in cutting and measuring
  • Willingness to embrace new challenges and focus on quality and timely delivery
