Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Production Operator in Telford, England, on a rotating two-shift pattern (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm). The role involves following production schedules, weighing and processing plastics, and ensuring safety and housekeeping standards.

It is a temporary position with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate. Salary is paid hourly with paid breaks and lunch provided; prior experience in extrusion or master batch is preferred, along with ability to meet tight

Qualifications

• Experience in Manufacturing or Extrusion and/or Plastics / Master Batch industry.
• Knowledge and working practice in the plastics and master batch industry.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure with supervision.
• Attention to detail and innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

• Follow all guidance and instructions; inform Management of any difficulties or problems within Manufacturing.
• Weigh, mix, blend, process/extrude products per daily production schedule.
• Ensure health & safety practices are followed; operate machines per instructions; follow LOTO and use safeguards.
• Wear all required PPE at all times; keep PPE in the assigned locker.
• Report damages or equipment not working via red label system; monitor de-dusting, ventilation, and electrical faults.
• Ensure safety equipment is used and checked; maintain housekeeping in all areas.
• Follow Quality, Safety and Environmental regulations in Production and on site.
• Manage production waste and sorting into skips; monitor water and electricity usage.
• Control risks of pollution/contamination; complete production paperwork daily.
• Attend training programs on site; respect colleagues and environment.
• Adapt to reasonable functions within the production environment.
