Job summary

Stonegate-Farmers-Ltd is seeking a Plastic Pack Wash Operative at Lacock, Wiltshire. The role runs from 18:00 to 02:00, Monday to Friday, for a one-month temporary contract, with a pay rate of £13.26 per hour.

You will ensure hygiene standards across equipment and plastic components, supporting food safety and production efficiency. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitising plastic items, inspecting for residue or damage, reporting issues, adhering to COSHH and PPE procedures, and

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience required.
• Cleaning or hygiene experience in industrial/food production environment preferred.
• COSHH knowledge desirable.
• Understanding of food safety standards is beneficial.
• Able to stand for long periods and work in wet/warm conditions.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitising company plastic items, including trays, crates and containers.
• Inspecting items after cleaning to ensure no residue or contamination and identify damage.
• Reporting faults, damage or hygiene concerns to the relevant manager.
• Following all food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety procedures.
• Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in line with COSHH and company procedures.
• Maintaining PPE compliance and keeping work areas clean and organised.
• Supporting other hygiene-related duties during quieter periods and shift handovers.
• Carrying out manual handling and working safely around warehouse equipment.

Role: Plastic Pack Wash Operative

Pay rate: £13.26

Location: Lacock, Wiltshire

Working Hours: 18.00pm - 02.00am, Monday - Friday

We are seeking a Warehouse Operative to join the Plastic Pack Wash on a 1 month tempoary basis within our Packing Cente. In this role you will ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained across all company equipment and plastic components. This includes the thorough and effective cleaning of trays, tools, and machinery used in production. The role plays a vital part in supporting food safety, compliance with hygiene regulations, and the overall efficiency of operations by maintaining clean and sanitised work equipment at all times.

• Cleaning and sanitising company plastic items, including trays, crates and containers.
• Inspecting items after cleaning to ensure they are free from residue or contamination and identifying any damage.
• Reporting faults, damage or hygiene concerns to the relevant manager.
• Following all food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety procedures.
• Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in line with COSHH requirements and company procedures.
• Following all required PPE procedures.
• Keeping cleaning equipment, work areas and storage areas clean, safe and organised.
• Supporting with other hygiene-related duties during quieter periods and shift handovers.
• Carrying out manual handling and working safely around warehouse equipment

For this position, previous warehouse experience and cleaning/hygiene experience are essential.

You’ll also need to:

• Be comfortable working in a physical, hands-on environment.
• Be able to stand for extended periods and work in wet or warm conditions.
• Have a good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Work accurately and consistently, even when carrying out repetitive tasks.
• Be reliable, proactive and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Work well as part of a team and be willing to support others when required.
• Take Health & Safety seriously and follow instructions and procedures.

Experience

Essential:

• Previous warehouse experience.
• Previous cleaning or hygiene experience, ideally within an industrial, warehouse or food production environment.

Desirable:

• Experience using MHE, including electric or manual pump trucks.
• Knowledge of manual handling and Health & Safety procedures.
• Familiarity with food hygiene standards, HACCP and/or COSHH.
