Lancaster City Council is seeking a Plasterer/Tiler to join their Repairs and Maintenance Team. The role involves carrying out maintenance works on housing and non-housing stock. Applicants must have NVQ Level 3 in Plastering and a full driving licence. The position is permanent with a standard 37-hour work week and offers generous benefits, including annual leave and pension schemes.
The Role
We are currently looking to expand our Repairs and Maintenance Team. The post holder must have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent certificate in Plastering. The department is responsible for carrying out responsive and planned maintenance works, as well as void management works, on Lancaster City Council’s housing and non-housing stock. To improve service levels, meet performance targets, and increase the workforce, we are recruiting a Plasterer/Tiler.
A full current driving licence is essential. The post holder will need to work across the district, travelling between locations within the Council’s designated area. You will be required to sign up for the external DVLA licence validation service used to monitor employee driving licences.
The successful candidate will be subject to a basic Disclosure & Barring Service check.
This is a permanent position based at White Lund Depot.
The standard hours are 37 per week (Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm). However, for operational reasons, you may be required to work up to 39 hours per week. As this exceeds the standard hours, you will accrue one day’s leave for every 20 days worked.
