Job summary

A large housing association is seeking a Plasterer Multi to join their Property Team in Dorset. The role requires strong plastering skills, preferably with experience in the Residential sector. We're currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team in our Dorset locality. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket.

What you'll do:

As a Plasterer you will carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands.

  • Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials.
  • Preparing corner beads, and securing them in position.
  • Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers.
  • Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as creating decorative textures in finishing coats.
  • Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens.
  • Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper.
  • Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness.
  • Other tasks include damp & mould repairs, plastering, tiling and decorating.

What you'll need:

You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer.

Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.

Enjoy working as part of a team

This is a full time role, working 40 Hours per week.

Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van.

This role is subject to a satisfactory licence check, essential qualifications check and a basic DBS disclosure.
