Job summary

Together Housing is seeking a Plasterer to join our Responsive Repairs team covering South Yorkshire (Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster). You will repair plastering in tenanted properties, prioritise first-time fixes, and ensure safety and quality in every visit.

Requirements include a full UK driving license and plastering qualifications. We offer a competitive salary, company van for personal use, and family-friendly policies in a flexible, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Full manual UK driving license.
  • City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in plastering or NVQ Level2 or higher (Desirable).
  • Experience in plastering and other building disciplines as required.
  • Commitment to productive, high quality and reliable service.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills to accurately complete tickets and timesheets.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out plastering repairs to tenanted properties per tickets and specs.
  • Aim to complete repairs in one visit with high workmanship.
  • Keep records as required (paper or electronic).
  • Measure, quantify and procure materials as needed.
  • Protect tenants' belongings and maintain cleanliness and courtesy.
  • Conduct risk assessments before starting work; uphold health and safety.

We are currently seeking a Plasterer to join our Responsive Repairs team. In this role you will be responsible for carrying out plastering repairs, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales. Your expertise will be key in maximizing efficiency by utilizing your skills to complete tasks in a single visit wherever possible to a satisfactory standard.


Please note: This role covers the South Yorkshire working across locations including Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, and Doncaster.

Outline of key responsibilities for the Plasterer…


  • To carry out all types of plastering repairs to tenanted properties in accordance with job tickets, opti-time appointment slots, specifications and contract drawings, to good practice, Building Regulations etc as appropriate and applicable

  • To carry out work with an ethos of “Right First Time” always completing a repair where practicable in one visit, with good quality workmanship and good standard of performance.

  • To keep records such as required by either paper or electronic equivalent version, as required.

  • Will be required to undertake measurement and quantification and procure materials requirements.

  • To carry out all work with a high regard to customer care and customer satisfaction including ensuring that work is carried out protecting tenants furniture and belongings as appropriate through the use dustsheets etc, cleaning up afterwards, being polite friendly and helpful at all times and liaising with customers in a caring and sympathetic manner.

  • To carry out appropriate risk assessments prior to commencement of work. Ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of you, tenants, work colleagues and members of the public


We are looking for someone who has…


  • A full manual UK driving license

  • City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in plastering or equivalent NVQ Level2 or higher (Desirable)

  • Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified plasterer along with other associated building disciplines as required and as appropriate

  • A commitment to providing a productive, high quality and reliable service

  • Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to accurately and comprehensively complete job tickets, time sheets and other associated information.

  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and how it impacts on the way building repairs are carried out.

  • Starting salary of £33,758

  • Annual pay scale increase

  • 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays

  • Company van available for personal use

  • A flexible working environment, with a range of family friendly policies

  • You will work a total of 37 hours per week, scheduled between 08:00 and 19:30 across any five days from Monday to Saturday. The exact schedule will depend on business needs at the time. However, to give an idea, a typical working week may be Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 08:00 to 15:30. Please note that this is subject to change based on business requirements.
