This contract provides a 24-hour Housing repair service. The role offers opportunities for additional hours, which can potentially increase earnings by approximately £5k per annum through weekend work or call outs, if suitably skilled in other construction areas. Participation is optional.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced plasterer to join our team in Eastbourne. Working with Lewes and Eastbourne Councils on various residential projects, including occupied, void properties, and communal areas, our team delivers high standards and excellent customer service.
The role involves all aspects of plaster repairs, from minor patch repairs to complete room replastering, including removal, patching, boarding, over-boarding, thermal boarding, and plastering. External works such as sand and cement renders are also part of the role.
Customer experience is central to all activities. The successful candidate must communicate professionally with service users, clients, and stakeholders, maintaining a neat appearance, displaying company ID, and adhering to health & safety standards. Feedback from customers may be requested upon job completion.
All activities are processed electronically via a handheld device (PDA), including worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, van stock management, booking leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments, and method statements.
Role Criteria:
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their licence for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
All roles are subject to DBS/security checks before employment begins.
