Job summary

Aurora Energy Services in Huntly is seeking a Plasma Operator to operate CNC plasma cutting machinery to cut steel plate and components in line with drawings and production requirements.

You will set up equipment, read engineering drawings, load materials, inspect parts for accuracy, and work closely with fabricators to hit workshop deadlines while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC plasma cutting is preferred.
• Understanding of steel fabrication and engineering drawings.
• Safer, reliable worker in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Plasma Operator to be based in our Fabrication facility in Huntly who will be responsible for operating CNC plasma cutting machinery to accurately cut steel plate and components in accordance with drawings, cutting lists and production requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating CNC plasma cutting machinery safely and efficiently.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and cutting specifications.
• Loading and unloading steel plate and finished components.
• Checking cut parts for accuracy, dimensions and quality.
• Carrying out basic machine maintenance and consumable changes.
• Identifying and reporting machine or quality issues.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Working closely with fabricators and the production team to meet workshop deadlines.

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

• Previous CNC plasma cutting experience preferred.
• good understanding of steel fabrication and engineering drawings.
• Safety-conscious, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
