Job summary

Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Plant & Tool Hire Fitter to ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for hire. You will perform maintenance, inspections and essential servicing, while supporting customers and keeping records up to date.

Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence and bring a proactive attitude to learning. Training will be provided to develop skills and qualifications for progression within the business.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience in a similar role is a big plus.
• Willingness to learn and attend training provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on plant and tool equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Perform pre- and post-hire checks to keep kit in top condition for next customer.
• Maintain a tidy, safe workshop and accurate maintenance logs and inspection records.
• Assist customers in a friendly, professional manner and support stock checks as needed.

As a Hire Fitter at Huws Gray Plant & Tool Hire, you’ll be the go-to person making sure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to roll. From maintaining and repairing plant and tool kit to keeping everything up to safety standards, you'll help keep our customers moving and projects on track.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Looking after our equipment with routine maintenance and repairs, making sure everything’s safe and ready to go
• Carrying out checks before and after hire, so our kit is always in top condition for the next customer
• Keeping the workshop clean, tidy, and safe - because a well-run space makes all the difference
• Staying organised by keeping maintenance records up to date and logging inspections properly
• Helping customers out in a friendly, professional way
• Chipping in with stock checks and lending a hand wherever the team needs you
