Job Summary

Responsible for responding to alarms and equipment issues, working with current plant conditions and commercial commitments. Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable power plant operation. Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and performing operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians. Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and performing maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Inspects, repairs, and maintains various types of plant equipment
  • Understands and is able to ensure proper operation of the plant
  • Repairs and calibrates equipment
  • Troubleshoots equipment and systems
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
  • Performs technical work or analysis of processes in areas of expertise
  • Gains knowledge of the entire plant cycle and how it functions
  • Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement.
  • Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
  • Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
  • Perform clearances in LOTO under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
  • Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
  • Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrate standard computer based skills
  • All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources.
