Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Delivery of routine preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of assets across the sites, including fault finding of building and yard systems.

This role suits an individual who proactively fault finds and problem solves.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Delivery of planned preventative maintenance
  2. Fault finding of depot systems
  3. Ensuring contractors work safely
  4. Use of asset management systems
  5. Work safely within a railway environment

You'll need to be:

  1. Dedicated to working safely and efficiently
  2. Experienced in facilities maintenance or a service-critical environment
  3. Able to follow schematics and fault find on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  4. Flexible and comfortable working alone or in a team
  5. Confident with information technology
  6. A good communicator, responsive to depot team needs

Minimum requirements:

  1. NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Engineering
  2. BS 7671 – 18th Edition Electrical Certificate
  3. Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements (IOSH)

Additional advantageous qualifications:

  • C&G 2391 – 52 Electrical Periodic Inspection & Testing
  • Knowledge of building facility and plant maintenance
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical discipline

About the location:

Reading Train Care Depot is a large site with good transport links, accessible by rail and road.

Working pattern:

Day shift, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with on-call requirements.

Additional information:

The successful candidate must live within a one-hour commute of the depot.
