Purpose of the role
The Supervisor will work actively with the Assistant/Production Manager to operate their site in accordance with company procedures and policies related to health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance (in collaboration with the Assistant/Production Manager)
- Customer service, including batching quality concrete following processes and procedures
- Material handling, including managing stocks via batching computer
- Maintaining stocks and inventory
- Plant maintenance, housekeeping, cleaning, and defect reporting
- Adhering to EDF Code of Conduct at Hinkley Point
Key Accountabilities
- Follow and comply with NNB health & safety procedures and Heidelberg policies, reporting near misses and issues promptly
- Accurately batch concrete as per approved systems
- Ensure the plant is stocked with approved materials at all times, maintaining good communication with the Assistant/Production Manager
- Handle customer inquiries courteously, maintaining a high standard of company image and planning work to meet customer needs
- Liaise with EDF contractors and office to meet customer requirements, ensuring quality standards are met
- Manage waste disposal, water discharges, and dust emissions according to environmental procedures
- Operate the batching plant to EDF standards and maintain site presentation
- Inspect incoming raw materials, verify stocks weekly, report discrepancies immediately, and maintain accurate stock records
- Perform routine plant maintenance and ensure cleanliness of the plant, equipment, and surrounding areas
- Report any defects or incidents that could impact health & safety, environment, or product quality
- Ensure compliance with EDF policies on health & safety, environment, quality, and legal regulations
- Keep the site, plant, and buildings clean, tidy, and safe at all times
- Maintain site security and foster positive relationships with third parties and contractors
- Seek advice from supervisors on matters outside authority scope
- Perform additional duties as required
