Plant Supervisor Portsmouth

As Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for liaising with customers, contractors, suppliers, and internal contacts to ensure concrete is produced in line with quality standards and customer expectations.

You will be confident in using your own initiative and making decisions, as well as communicating effectively with stakeholders from drivers to senior management.

Ideal candidates may come from a production/manufacturing background with proven supervision skills, experience in health and safety disciplines, key customer service, and communication skills. Experience within the concrete industry is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Job Duties:

  1. Work independently as the main point of contact and representative for our busy site, liaising with customers face-to-face and via telephone.
  2. Produce concrete in line with quality standards to meet customer expectations, resolving queries or issues promptly to ensure excellent service.
  3. Coordinate vehicle fleet requirements to optimize utilization.
  4. Manage stock controls and supervise safety, health, and environmental standards on site, including housekeeping of all plant and equipment.

Person Specification:

  • Confident communicator with a clear understanding of customer requirements and satisfaction.
  • Full training provided through in-house and external qualifications; experience in the ready-mix concrete industry and driving a loading shovel is advantageous.
  • Basic PC skills are required.
