Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK (formerly Hanson UK) is recruiting a Concrete Plant Supervisor to oversee batching operations and ensure high safety and quality standards at our UK sites.

You'll manage concrete production, liaise with customers and drivers, and lead a small team to maintain site cleanliness and efficient operations while upholding our commitment to safety and continuous improvement across the business.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality concrete and mortar per customer specs.
• Liaise with customers, drivers, and offices to ensure smooth operations.

• Conduct routine plant inspections and maintenance.
• Ensure site cleanliness and welfare facilities meet high standards.
• Monitor and report defects, safety, environmental or quality concerns.
• Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality standards.
• Promote a safe working environment for staff and visitors.
• Seek ways to improve operational efficiency and site presentation.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in producing high‑quality concrete, ensuring plant operations run efficiently, maintaining excellent site standards, and helping us deliver a first‑class service to our customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Concrete Plant Supervisor, you will:

• Operate the batching plant and loading shovel (FEL) safely and efficiently.
• Produce quality concrete and mortar in line with customer requirements and company procedures.
• Liaise with customers, drivers, the Order Office, and plant colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain stock levels of approved raw materials and carry out regular stock inspections.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Ensure the site, plant, buildings, and welfare facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Monitor and report any defects, safety concerns, environmental issues, or quality concerns.
• Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and company standards.
• Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Continuously seek ways to improve operational efficiency and site presentation.
