Job description

To work closely with other team members in producing concrete in a safe, clean environment and to ensure the best possible customer service is always achieved. To be responsible for the first impression regarding the cleanliness of the yard, plant, and facilities.

Reporting and Responsibilities

Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall control of the site.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Use computer-based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete.
  2. Communicate effectively with customers face-to-face and via phone.
  3. Carry out routine maintenance and supervise contractors and haulers to ensure safety and efficiency, complying with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation.
  4. Handle emissions according to Environmental Procedures.
  5. Ensure sufficient materials are available for production demands.
  6. Perform routine inspections, record defects, and take corrective actions.
  7. Report any defects, actions, or occurrences that may jeopardize safety, environmental standards, product quality, or service.
  8. Ensure full compliance with health & safety and environmental policies.
  9. Maintain site cleanliness, tidiness, safety, and security at all times.
  10. Operate the batching plant to company standards, maintaining site presentation.
  11. Accurately batch concrete/mortar following procedures.
  12. Maintain adequate stock of approved materials, additives, and fuel.
  13. Ensure correct entry of material tickets and notify of discrepancies.
  14. Manage delivery tickets, raising CRDF forms when necessary, and ensure timely action with detailed information.

Employees may be required to perform additional duties and provide cover for absences as per business needs.

Education/Qualifications

  • GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent to a C in Maths and English.
