Job description

Experienced Shift Supervisor Required

Temporary to Permanent Position

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm, with overtime on Saturdays

Starting Salary: £34,795 per annum

Location: Wellingborough

Due to company growth, we are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to work within the Aggregates sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business. As a Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of the plant, lead a team, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage production targets. Key responsibilities include:

1. Supervising and directing a team of employees including loading shovel operators, MHE equipment drivers, and site operatives.
2. Maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and operational requirements, and managing site health, safety, and welfare.
3. Monitoring and managing plant production to meet volume and quality targets, ensuring continuous operation.
4. Managing maintenance and service schedules, including routine checks and tasks.
5. Planning and scheduling shift operations, making adjustments as needed, and organizing agency personnel.
6. Collaborating with other Shift Supervisors, managers, and contractors to ensure smooth plant operation.
7. Handling deliveries and collections.
8. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and developing team members.

Requirements:

1. At least 2 years of experience as a Shift Supervisor or Team Leader in Aggregates, Mineral Processing, or Steel Manufacturing.
2. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
3. Some knowledge of conveyor maintenance and general plant operations.
4. Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate flexibility.
5. Holding or working towards a Mobile Plant NVQ is desirable but not essential.
