Heidelberg Materials AG in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Plant Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of a concrete plant, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

You will operate batching systems, monitor stock, supervise contractors, and maintain site standards while providing excellent service to customers.

This role requires practical, safety-conscious leadership and the ability to coordinate with the office and customers in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Experience in operating concrete batching or similar plant operations is beneficial.
• Knowledge of safety practices on a busy site is important.
• Ability to work with colleagues and customers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Operating the batching plant and accurately producing concrete to required quality standards
• Working closely with the Order Office to ensure production meets customer requirements
• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers face-to-face and by phone
• Ensuring sufficient materials are available to meet production demands
• Inspecting incoming materials and completing regular stock checks
• Carrying out routine plant inspections and maintenance, reporting defects
• Supervising contractors, hauliers and visitors to ensure site safety procedures are followed
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, site presentation and security
• Monitoring plant, equipment and materials to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Ensuring waste disposal, water discharge and dust emissions are managed to environmental requirements
• Maintaining high standards across health and safety, environmental compliance, product quality and customer service
• Reporting any issues that could impact safe and effective operation of the plant

Plant Supervisor

Take control of the plant. Keep operations moving. Deliver a great service.

We're looking for a confident and hands-on Plant Supervisor to take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional day-to-day running of our concrete plant.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be at the heart of the operation, overseeing production, maintaining high standards across the site and ensuring our customers receive the quality products and service they expect.

This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. One moment you could be operating our computer-based batching system, the next speaking with customers, checking stock levels, carrying out routine maintenance or making sure contractors and hauliers are working safely on site.

If you enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and working in a fast-paced operational environment, this could be the role for you.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is practical, safety-conscious and comfortable taking responsibility for a busy operational site.

You’ll need to be organised, approachable and confident dealing with a range of people, from customers and colleagues to drivers and contractors. You’ll also be comfortable using computer-based systems and getting hands‑on when routine plant maintenance or inspections are required.

Experience within concrete, aggregates, construction, manufacturing or another operational environment would be beneficial, but just as important is having the right attitude, a strong focus on safety and the confidence to take ownership of the plant.
