Overview

Plant Services Engineer – Location: Beccles, Suffolk
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Double Days) - 06:00 – 14:00 plus alternate weekend cover required
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

As a Plant Services Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring all site services are fully operational and compliant with regulatory standards. Reporting to the Plant Services Team Leader, you’ll be part of a high-performing team that supports production through expert maintenance and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and service all site utilities to meet production demands.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and keep accurate records.
  • Ensure optimal operation of water treatment systems, air compressors, refrigeration units, and heating systems.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations, including testing and record-keeping for lifting equipment, fire systems, and ventilation.
  • Manage contractors on-site and ensure maintenance contracts are fulfilled.
  • Respond to breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Operate and maintain essential site systems including water treatment, fire protection, compressors, chilled water, and HVAC.
  • Work with heavy-duty equipment such as pumps, boilers, overhead cranes, MEWPs, and compressed air systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Desirable: Experience with air compressors, pump sets, industrial water systems
  • Desirable: Forklift truck licence
