Job description

Job Opportunity: Mobile Plant Operator
Location: Frome (with travel across the UK)

Are you a reliable and trustworthy individual seeking a dynamic role with variety and opportunities for growth? Join a leading company in the Avonmouth area as a Mobile Plant Operator, working on innovative equipment and traveling to various sites across the UK and staying away for up to seven nights in a row.

The Role

This is an interesting and varied role that involves:
  1. Operating and maintaining mobile processing equipment at multiple locations.
  2. Working 10 days on / 4 days off (06:00 AM to 6:00 PM).
  3. Occasional overnight stays (all expenses covered).
  4. Driving a company-provided van.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Install, operate, and maintain mobile processing plant.
  2. Optimise machine settings to achieve desired results.
  3. Provide support to Service Engineers on-site or in the workshop.
  4. Supervise and train subcontractors and new employees after training completion.
  5. Follow risk assessments and method statements before starting work.

The ideal candidate will be:

  1. Experienced in plant operations: Familiar with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  2. Independent: Capable of working unsupervised, sometimes in remote locations.
  3. Flexible: Adaptable to changing shifts and customer needs, including night shifts.
  4. Customer-focused: Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and respect with clients.
  5. Motivated and organised: A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  1. Process industry experience (advantageous, but not essential).
  2. Willingness to work away from home for up to 8 days (depending on shift).
  3. A valid manual driving license (preferably clean).
  4. Forklift and/or telehandler license (desirable but not required).

Working hours and pay

  1. Shift patterns: 10 days on / 4 days off.
  2. Overtime paid at 1.5x (Mon-Sat) and 2x (Sundays & Bank Holidays).
  3. Competitive salary: Starting at £25k, increasing to £29k after achieving objectives.
  4. OTE (On Target Earnings): £48k for 10 days on / 4 days off.
