Job description

Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators/Labourers in the Kings Lynn area to join our team.

Job Overview:

To operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level. Any other duties required in the day to day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities:

1. To carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
2. To carry out the daily/weekly required maintenance tasks on the mobile & fixed plant consisting of greasing and keeping the equipment clean.
3. To report any defects noted to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
4. To dispatch and control the quality of product and follow plant GPS to alter the ground to the required levels.
5. To accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit on a weekly basis.
6. To accurately log all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and ensure logs are documented correctly.
7. To inform quarry management of any materials deemed unsuitable for production.
8. To understand company procedures related to breakdowns to act swiftly to minimize downtime.
9. To ensure any training requirements are highlighted to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
10. To conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others, and maintain professionalism as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
11. To maintain a good standard of site cleanliness to minimize potential hazards.
12. To regularly be in contact with site management.

Skills/Qualifications:

1. A full UK driving licence.
2. Experience on either Dozer, 360 Excavator, or a Dump Truck (5 years experience).
3. A hard-working nature.
4. Experience with GPS (machine control).
