Job description

Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator with proficiency in bulk handling techniques, using an FLT and/or JCB, excellent time-management skills and attention to detail is required for a recycling facility based in Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England.

SALARY: £11.47 - £13.63 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England (WA7)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift Work)

WORKING HOURS: Day Shift Only – Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 15:30

KEY REQUIREMENTS: You must have a Forklift / FLT and Telehandler License. Holding a JCB handling license is highly desirable.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator with proficiency in bulk handling techniques, using an FLT and/or JCB, excellent time-management skills and attention to detail.

Working as the Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator you will be responsible for a range of material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials using a Forklift Truck / FLT and a JCB, bucket work and operation of screeners / shredders, to ensure efficient processing of recycled materials.

As the Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator you will be working in a fast-paced environment where flexibility with work schedules is required and the ability to work all shift patterns to support production demands.

DUTIES

  1. You will be responsible for a range of material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials using a Fork Lift Truck / FLT.
  2. Perform bulk handling tasks using a JCB, such as bucket work and operation of screeners/shredders, to ensure efficient processing of recycled materials.
  3. Operate machinery to oversee the recycling process, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high-quality output.
  4. Maintain general housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment, adhering strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations, prioritizing and promoting safety in all aspects of work.
  5. Operate the site and production processes safely and efficiently, contributing to a commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management.
  6. Assist with other duties as needed, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain a high standard of work.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have Fork Lift and Telehandler License.
  2. Holding a JCB handling license is highly desirable.
  3. Proficient in bulk handling techniques, with previous experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment preferred.
  4. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects within set timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues with minimal supervision.
  6. Flexibility with work schedules and ability to work all shift patterns to support production demands and operational requirements.
