Job description

Acorn Recruitment are recruiting for a Plant Operator for one of our clients based in Totnes.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (no Overtime required).

You must hold a full clean driving licence as there may be a requirement to collect spare parts from other sites (a van will be provided for this)

salary: 25,500

A background of process plant operations would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised, computer literate, confident and reliable, with a desire to expand their knowledge and develop their skills.

The Person

  • Plant operator; with an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised, sometimes at remote sites.
  • Process experience; relevant experience in the water or process industry an advantage but not essential.
  • Flexible; must be willing to adapt to changing requirements to meet customer demands.
  • Customer focused; must be able to communicate at all levels and gain the trust and respect of customers.
  • operating, maintaining, assembling, dissembling heavy machinery that operates at speed.
  • licence; must have a full, ideally clean driving licence for manual vehicles.
  • Forklift and/or Telehandler licence an advantage but not essential.

The Role

  • Monday to Friday 8-4pm
  • Operate and maintain our range of mobile processing plant machinery.
  • Optimise machine settings to achieve desired processing parameters.
  • Assist Service Engineers when on site or at the company workshop.
  • Understand and follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to undertaking installation and operating work.
