Job description

Astute’s Renewables team are working exclusively with an established Anaerobic Digestion business, who are looking to recruit a Plant/Site Operative for their site near Kettering, working on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation. The site has recently undergone an upgrade which will bring substantial benefits to the existing plant.

The Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the day to day running of the renewable energy plant and comes with a competitive salary, discretionary bonus and excellent training and benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Operative role

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will:

* Carrying out the day to day operations of the anaerobic digestion plant
* Working on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation and being part of an on-call rota
* Learning how to use the SCADA control systems to monitor the process
* Carrying out planned & reactive maintenance of the plant, which will include working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pipework etc once trained
* Feeding fuel into the process using mobile plant such as a telehandler
* Responding to machine and systems failures once trained
* General site housekeeping, keeping it clean and tidy
* Ensuring adherence with health & safety
* Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* A relevant Engineer degree is desired but not essential
* Telehandler licence is an advantage
* Full UK Driving Licence

Personal skills

The Plant Operative role would suit someone who has:

* Experience working in Anaerobic Digestion or a similar environment such as Agriculture, water treatment, energy from waste ect
* Experience operating mobile plant such as a telehandler or loading shovel
* Experience carrying out first line maintenance on processing plant such as pumps & conveyers would be an advantage
* Knowledge of SCADA or DCS would be an advantage
* Hard working and happy to work in an environment that processes food waste for renewable energy.
