Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group seeks an experienced Operations Manager for its waste-to-energy facility in the UK. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead the Operations and Fuel Handling teams, drive plant performance, and collaborate with Maintenance to maximise availability and efficiency.

You will chair daily operational meetings, oversee budgets, and ensure compliance with H&S, Quality, and Environmental Systems while mentoring a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility operates in compliance with all safety, environmental and performance requirements.
• Monitor plant performance, conduct root-cause analyses, and lead corrective actions.
• Lead daily operational meetings and prioritise work schedules with the Maintenance Manager.
• Set maintenance priorities and schedules; manage outages with Maintenance Manager.
• Manage day-to-day operations of ~10 staff in operations and fuel handling.
• Promote productivity and teamwork through clear communication and leadership.
