Qualifications

  • Must have a Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
  • Experience in mining or construction equipment is highly regarded.

Job description

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Leading Hand Mechanic will be leading and motivating a crew of up to 10 employees within the New Machines workshop. They will be promoting and encouraging high safety standards and showcasing a positive can-do attitude. This individual will be assisting in training their team members and working alongside all members whilst dealing with high volume work.

Location : South Guildford

Roster : Mon-Fri, 5 / 2, 10.5 Hr shifts

To be successful the following is required :

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
  • Exposure to mining / construction equipment or other industrial areas such as agriculture or highway trucks, hire equipment is highly considered
  • CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
  • Team leadership experience with ability to lead from the front with Safety as this will be paramount
  • Multi-task in a busy environment
  • Strong understanding of KPI metrics from receiving a task to component dispatch
  • Ability to coach and mentor teams
  • Experience within Component Rebuilds is advantageous
