We're offering an excellent opportunity for the ideal candidate to become part of our expanding equipment rental company. As a Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do:
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment, including powered access machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and prioritise repair needs.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet schedules and minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely solutions.
  • Communicate with supervisors and operators to understand performance issues and gather relevant information for repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during maintenance and repairs.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in equipment technology and maintenance techniques.
What you'll need:
  • Previous experience as a plant mechanic or in repairing plant and equipment.
  • Good all-round mechanical skills.
  • Leaving Cert or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures for safe, high-quality work.
  • Highly organised with effective communication skills.
  • IT proficiency for electronic record-keeping.
