Bam Ritchies is currently recruiting a Plant Mechanic based at our depot in Clevedon, Somerset. We are seeking a self-motivated candidate capable of servicing and repairing various plant and equipment and resolving mechanical issues.

Your mission

As a Plant Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out workplace risk assessments
• Communicating effectively with supervisors and management
• Resolving technical problems related to plant and equipment and sharing knowledge
• Performing and recording regular plant inspections
• Conducting scheduled servicing according to manufacturer's specifications
• Having knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Carrying out on- and off-hire PDI inspections
• Performing pre-examination inspections
• Providing clear data and records
• Reading and understanding schematics
• Advising others on safe operation and maintenance of plant
• Seeking advice on plant modifications to ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures
• Identifying opportunities to implement new technology
• Following daily/weekly work programmes set by the manager
• Collaborating with operational teams on workload
• Training, mentoring, and developing others
• Recording all work within the company's electronic system
• Performing workshop inspections as instructed
• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental legislation

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

• Level 2 VQ in Plant Maintenance and Repair
• Level 3 Diploma in Plant Maintenance (Construction)
• Level 3 Diploma in controlling lifting operations – supervising lifts
• TIMMM
• EngTech

Training:

• First Aid at Work – 1 day
• CSCS/PTS
• Technical Seminars and Workshops

Experience:

Demonstrated through CPD and CV a comprehensive range of experience.
