Job description

Plant Manager Role

This role directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other related activities. Ensures the efficient running of the plant and on-time delivery of products. Prepares, analyzes, and identifies improvements for KPIs and monitors compliance with systems regarding Quality, H&S, and Environmental standards.

Production Management
  • Oversees all plant operations, including personnel, logistics, production, maintenance, and other commercial activities.
  • Ensures compliance with production volumes based on client-provided production plans.
  • Sets and monitors site KPIs and addresses deviations.
  • Monitors site performance on quality and service.
  • Ensures compliance with Quality, Food Defense, Environment, and H&S Management Systems to ensure product conformity, safety, proper waste management, and protection of employees and assets.
  • Develops and controls profits, plans, and budgets; builds and presents cases to secure CAPEX.
  • Ensures adequate preventive and corrective maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
Team Management
  • Performs PMS for all direct reports.
  • Assesses training needs of the team.
  • Develops and encourages the team to perform at high standards.
Customer Relations
  • Participates in regular meetings with customers.
  • Liaises with customers on day-to-day requirements.
  • Ensures implementation of last-minute requests and plans.
  • Provides quotations and information as required.
  • Oversees trial requests, costings, and cost reduction projects.
  • Investigates causes of customer complaints and implements necessary containment, corrections, or corrective actions.
