Qualifications

  • Demonstrable 5+ years of operations management experience preferably within a high-volume manufacturing or plastic processing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Understanding of supply chain processes particularly on warehousing & logistics
  • Proven track record in improving operational efficiencies in an industrial set-up

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, permits, risk assessments and contractor controls.
  • Set clear standards for safe behaviour and lead by example; report, investigate and act on incidents.
  • Maintain product safety, traceability and audit readiness to meet customer/regulatory standards.
  • Lead site performance reviews via tier meetings and timely countermeasures.
  • Improve OEE, throughput, material yield and manpower productivity through stable processes and disciplined loss analysis.
  • Drive automation and digitalisation to increase productivity on End of Line activities.
  • Accelerate key projects with cross-functional collaboration and a culture of ownership.
  • Foster two-way communication with employees and representatives to strengthen engagement.
  • Contribute to Group initiatives and share best practices across sites.
  • Drive supply chain excellence and optimize warehousing and logistics processes.

Job Purpose

As a Plant Manager you will assume overall oversight, and responsibility for the site operations to ensure the achievement of operational targets. The role leads 24/7 manufacturing across two proximate sites for blown film extrusion & converting, Aluminum foil and cling-film rewinding, and translating business plans into disciplined daily execution.

As the senior site leader, the Plant Manager develops the leadership team and creates a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and constructive employee engagement.

He/She acts as the senior representative at the Telford site and owns the site's performance-management rhythm. The role is accountable for delivering, within the approved operating and capital budgets.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental legislation, permits, risk assessments, contractor controls, and company standards.
  • Set clear standards for safe behaviour and visible leadership; ensure hazards, near misses and incidents are reported, investigated and acted upon promptly.
  • Maintain effective systems for product safety, traceability and audit readiness, including applicable customer and regulatory standards.
  • Lead daily and weekly performance reviews for the site through structured tier meetings and timely countermeasures
  • Improve Plant OEE, throughput, material yield and manpower productivity through stable processes, good engineering standards and disciplined loss analysis to reduce overall cost of goods sold
  • Drive flexible automation and digitalisation to increase productivity particularly on End of Line manual intensive activities.
  • Increase the pace of execution of key projects driving cross-functional collaboration and instilling a “can do” culture
  • Create constructive two-way communication with employees and representatives, strengthening engagement, problem solving and ownership at every level.
  • Contribute to Group initiatives, share and implement good practice with/from other sites.
  • Drive supply chain excellence, to reduce the cost to serve, optimising warehousing and logistic process.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrable 5+ years of operations management experience preferably within a high-volume manufacturing or plastic processing environment (extrusion, injection molding etc.) supplying own brand products to customers.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Understanding of supply chain processes particularly on warehousing & logistics
  • Proven track record in improving operational efficiencies in an industrial set‑up
