Position Purpose:

The Plant Manager will oversee all plant operational activities at the designated site to ensure the effective and safe utilization of plant equipment, compliance with site permit regulations, and meeting customer expectations in a compliant and customer-friendly manner.

This role involves managing day-to-day plant operations in accordance with license obligations and health and safety procedures, including KPI targets, business objectives, and overall management of site personnel.

As part of the operations team, the Plant Manager will ensure the safe long-term operation of the plant at high utilization, requiring effective resource and manpower management on a daily basis.

This position may require providing out-of-hours on-call duties on a rota basis.

Key Job Activities:
  • Provide strong leadership to the operational team at the designated site, fostering continuous improvement and high engagement.
  • Ensure optimal performance of plant/equipment and support maintenance teams technically.
  • Adhere to company principles and standards regarding personnel, resources, procedures, and practices.
  • Lead plant operations in compliance with legislation including H&S, maintenance, SOPs, working time directive, and site permits. Manage and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with health and safety legislation and policies, maintaining training standards.
  • Manage overall productivity, controlling costs, and supporting financial goals including budget management, revenue, and profit.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff to support operational effectiveness.
Education:
  • Required: High School or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent
  • Engineering degree or equivalent preferred
  • COTC certification advantageous
Experience (EMEAA):
  • Experience managing KPIs and P&L
  • Experience operating an engineering plant, including maintenance
  • Experience within a complex plant environment, ideally incineration/combustion
  • Leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and innovation
  • Strong communication and customer relationship skills
  • Commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Relevant engineering or manufacturing knowledge
  • Proven management experience in diverse plant operations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
