Key Responsibilities as Plant Manager:
Health & Safety: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements. Develop and implement safety protocols, conduct audits, and promote a culture of safety awareness.
Leadership & Team Management: Foster a culture of empowerment and ownership. Mentor and support production supervisors and operatives, driving a quality-focused culture and monitoring staff performance.
Production Management & Continuous Improvement: Deliver daily manufacturing outputs, drive KPIs, and optimize staffing and workload distribution. Promote a lean-thinking mindset and implement measures to enhance productivity and quality.
Quality Control & Process Compliance: Monitor production to detect and fix issues, enforce raw material and in-process quality checks, and implement corrective actions to improve quality targets.
Engineering, Maintenance & Downtime Reduction: Collaborate with the Engineering team to minimize downtime, oversee a Planned Preventive Maintenance program, and lead projects to introduce automation and process upgrades.
Training & Development: Regularly update the training skill matrix, conduct assessments to identify skill gaps, and develop tailored training plans. Oversee the induction process for new starters.
Cost Control & Budget Management: Ensure cost-efficient production operations, analyse operational expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
