Job Overview
The Plant Manager must excel in a process-driven, results-oriented environment. While experience in the centrifugally cast tube process is desired, it is not required. This role requires an individual who demonstrates sound judgment, thrives under pressure, and possesses strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will effectively balance multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively. As a key leader, they will guide foundry operators, manage conflicts, and facilitate employee development, all while focusing on process enhancement. The Plant Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of hard work, professional growth, and success celebration, driving continuous improvement throughout the foundry operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations of both foundry and machine shop
  2. Develop and implement process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality
  3. Participate in strategic planning to align department goals with overall company objectives
  4. Manage and optimize production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines
  5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards
  6. Lead and mentor the foundry team, including operators and supervisors
  7. Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
  8. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, maintenance, engineering) to resolve issues and implement solutions
  9. Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and customers
  11. Oversee equipment maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance
  12. Manage budgets and control costs while maintaining production quality
  13. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in centrifugal casting
  14. Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance skills and knowledge in centrifugal casting techniques

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Industrial Management
  • General knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture of castings and efficient foundry production flow
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Functional knowledge of basic math and its application to foundry activities and management
  • Working knowledge of machines and tools including usage, repair, and maintenance
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to positively influence team members both personally and professionally to achieve high performance
  • A passion for metallurgy and manufacturing processes
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to decode complex blueprints
