Job summary

  • Coordinate with maintenance to plan maintenance activities and shutdowns.
  • Manage plant budgets, cost control and expenditure tracking.
  • Ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available for operations.
  • Collaborate with quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams to optimise performance.
  • Support site improvement projects and new product introductions.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
  • Report plant performance and production outcomes to senior management.

Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a critical operational area, leading the safe, efficient and reliable production, storage, packing and dispatch of cement products while driving performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the safe operation of the grinding plant, cement storage facilities, packing plant and dispatch operations. You'll work collaboratively across production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, logistics and commercial teams to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance.

Leading a team of supervisors and operational personnel, you'll play a key role in delivering business objectives, developing people and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all company and safety standards.

  • Manage daily grinding, packing and dispatch activities to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Manage plant budgets, cost control and expenditure tracking.
  • Ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Work collaboratively with quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams to optimise performance.
  • Support the delivery of site improvement projects and new product introductions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
  • Report on plant performance and production outcomes to senior management.
Essential Experience
  • Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes.
  • Significant experience within a cement manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leading operational teams in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing contractors, projects and cross-functional activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver operational and business performance targets.
