As Plant Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of the ERF’s operations - from safety, compliance, and reliability through to team development and commercial performance. You’ll drive a culture of excellence across the site, ensuring targets are achieved without compromising on safety or environmental integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior on-site representative, embedding a safety-first culture across the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Deliver operational targets for plant availability, energy output, and waste throughput.
  • Full P&L ownership — prepare annual budgets, control costs, and report on financial performance.
  • Lead and develop a skilled, motivated team with a focus on performance, succession planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g. Commercial, Engineering, HR, SHEQ) to meet strategic and contractual goals.
  • Ensure site standards remain aligned with industry best practices and innovation.
  • Maintain full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Extensive leadership experience in power generation, energy from waste, or other process-driven, regulated environments.
  • Strong people management capabilities, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing financial budgets, commercial KPIs, and P&L responsibilities.
  • A background in continuous improvement, operational reliability, and safety management.
  • Confidence working within a large corporate structure, while driving a localised, accountable team culture.
  • Experience in contract management and ensuring compliance with industry standards and legislation.
