Job summary

Biogen UK is seeking a Night Shift Plant Maintenance Engineer to support the Site Manager in safe operations, PM systems, and planned downtime for equipment overhauls. The role requires electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications with process-industry exposure; PLC/electronics experience is a plus, and in-house WAMITAB and NEBOSH training are provided if needed.

Initially day shifts during training, progressing to a Tuesday–Friday night shift from 19:30 to 06:00.

Job description

Plant Maintenance Engineer (Night Shift)

Full time

Permanent

You will join us as a night shift Plant Engineer who will support the Site Manager with the safe operation of the site, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) System, planned down time of key equipment for planned, safe and cost effective overhaul.

The successful candidate will be qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally with experience from a related process industry. Experience in engineering, PLC controls or electronics would also be an advantage. You will ideally hold a qualification or possess experience in materials handling, confined spaces, working at heights and first aid. Training will be provided to achieve in house WAMITAB competency standards and aNEBOSH general certificate, if these are not already held.

You will have the ability to follow procedure and protocol, experience of cost control and working within budget and adapt to changing circumstances effectively. Be self-motivated, flexible and a great team player but also confident to work on your own. It is desirable that you have experience of environmental, safety and quality management systems. Experience of working with planned preventive maintenance systems is also essential for this position.

Training to obtain a telehandler licence will be provide, if you do not already hold one. A full driving licence is required. The role follows a Tuesday- to- Friday night -shift pattern, working from 19:30 to 06:00. Overtime is paid for approved additional hours worked .

The successful candidate will work day shifts during the initial training and induction period, which is anticipated to last approximately two to three months. You will then transition to the contracted night shift pattern, subject to satisfactory completion of the required training.

£40,000 - £45,000 pa, dependent on experience + 20% Night shift allowance
