Job summary

Plant Machinery Technician / Fitter required in Earls Barton to join a long‑standing equipment dealer. Role covers PDI, repairs and preparation of machinery for delivery, with a focus on quality workmanship and customer care.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £21.00, a 44.5 hour working week, pension, parking and canteen facilities as part of an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant machinery maintenance, electrics, or PDI work.
• Fabrication, welding, soldering and mechanical assembly experience.
• Experience operating heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts) preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail in workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PDI preparation on new machinery for customer delivery
• Perform maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on plant equipment
• Repair or replace mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components
• Conduct welding, soldering and fabrication tasks using hand and power tools
• Safely operate heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts
• Prepare used and auction equipment for resale
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance
• Adhere to site Health & Safety procedures and company standards
